Hi I'm Kent, I am in the process of completing my studies at Tamkang University in Taiwan in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering. My goals for this academic year are to put the final touches on my MSc Thesis and complete the Geotechnical Engineering MSc program.

I am really passionate about Geotechnical Engineering and Disaster Management. My passion is founded in my beliefs that engineering should:
1. Firstly, be for the people(民生工程) and that the work of engineering professionals should be made available to help as many as possible and that the engineering professional should be approachable to anyone no matter their field.

2. Secondly, a tool for social upliftment seeking to construct roads where there were none, build structures to house people where there were none and make living in each and every country safer for everyone whether rich or poor.

I am willing to learn from all the different perspectives of worldwide researchers and geotechnical professionals. Please feel free to email me if you are looking for an intern or know someone who is.

The three areas in Geotechnics which are appealing to me are Research in Disaster Management, especially Sediment Related Disaster Research, Control, Rehabilitation and Engineering; Sustainable Engineering Methods, Road, Highway and Pavement Engineering and Engineering for Developing Countries. The programs which I am most familiar with are Autocad, Autocad Map3d, ArcGIS, TEKLA, WEPP, Cligen, Matlab and Fortran. Other programs I have used during my studies include Fire Dynamics Simulator, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and of course the Microsoft Office Suite.

Woodcarving is a hobby I enjoy, the entire aspect of creating beautiful designs and caricature is very interesting. I am hoping to evolve this passion into woodworking to build cabinets and small trinkets. I have also completed courses in Taichi and I'm not a professional but hope that I can continue to learn and improve my skills.
