Kerrigan Duncan

My name is Kerrigan Duncan. I am a third-year student at Western Carolina University. I am a Communication major with a concentration in Public Relations. I am minoring in Marketing. My career goal is to become a special events planner of a company or firm.

I am a very detail-oriented and organized student, which has led to become my campus ministries event coordinator, treasurer, as well as the administrative assistant for two years. While being a full-time student, and working two-part time jobs, this has helped to develop important skills such as time management, creativity, multi-taking, and good customer service. Between many different tasks this has helped me to develop good communication. I have learned how to translate these skills not only in my academic life, but as well as my personal. I have interned at a well-known Wedding Vineyard, which has led to be to lead-coordinator on two weddings.

Three words that describe me are: Driven, Responsible, and Hard-Working.

A quote that I live my life by is: “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.”

I love this quote because I believe that it is true to my life. I have always been taught that best way to achieve and succeed is through hard work. I always try to make the most of what I am doing and love every step along the way.
