I’m an aspiring doctor now living in Durham, North Carolina. I moved here last winter from New York to further pursue my medical career. I am currently a Junior/ Senior at North Carolina Central University. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to attend a HBCU. In addition to having a love for science, I also help produce short films with a good friend of mine back in New York. The name of the film I helped produce is "Ollie's Luck". I am currently working on a short film that will address the tense situation between the black community and police officers.
During my time here in Durham, I participated in an intensive six week medical program at Duke University School of Medicine. Out of over 1000 applicants from around the country, only 80 students were selected to participate and I was lucky enough to be one of them. It was through this program that I found my true calling in life. I work hard for all of my accomplishments and am proud to add SMDEP Scholar towards my repertoire.
