I'm Keshtogopal, but most people just call me Gopal. I am a freelance fashion, portrait & documentary photographer based in Kolkata, India.

Though based in Kolkata, I am available for fashion and portrait photography assignments worldwide. If you are in need of fashion portfolio for a clothing brand, or a personal photo session, I’m ready to tackle any photography project.

Ever since I picked up the camera for the first time, I have been drawn to the subtleness of the feminine. I’m mesmerized by the duality of tenderness and internal strength of females – it’s so intricate and yet can be portrayed in such a powerful and simplistic way.

You don’t need a lot of resources to get started.
When I first started photography, I used to get my friends to model for me.
Professional models entered the picture after I got intrigued by body forms and postures. I’ve always considered clothing to be an important part of a photograph, so ask my models to carry their own costumes and they may wear anything according to their comfort levels. Sometimes, I do suggest bright colored clothes to add more depth to the image.

Every time I go for a photography session, I show the pose references to the models, to try out different concepts. I shoot RAW but, I never do hardcore retouching in post-production. I just play around with brightness and contrast to make the photographs more interesting.
