Singaporean Nisar Keshvani is a communications consultant, educator, journalist and new media specialist. Over the past twenty years, he has worked across five continents, in various capacities and sectors, including academia, the corporate sector and a range of media initiatives. He has started up communications divisions and academic programmes, led media divisions, lectured and researched in university programmes and contributed to development and public service initiatives.

Keshvani currently serves as the Head of Communications at the University of Central Asia in the Kyrgyz Republic. He holds a Master of Arts in Research and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Queensland University of Technology, Australia and a Diploma in Mass Communication from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore.

Establishing and Leading Communications Initiatives
Keshvani is a master of start-ups. In 2011, he moved to the Kyrgyz Republic to establish the University of Central Asia’s Corporate Communications Department. As Head of Communications, he oversees public relations, strategic marketing, and internal and external communications to stakeholders across seven locations in Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan and an international network of subscribers. He has spearheaded the development of internal communications protocols and systems, as well as new product development, including enhanced subscription services, multimedia products and the University’s quarterly magazine. As the University spokesperson, he advises senior management on communications strategy and liaises with regional and international media.

From 2007-2009, as a Senior Lecturer at Republic Polytechnic's Centre for Communications and Enterprise, Singapore, Keshvani was a member of the pioneering team that developed their Diploma in Information and Communication Design. He served as Module Chair for Media Writing, Module co-developer for Visual Communications and facilitated G104 Contemporary Issues in Culture & Aesthetics. Earlier, as an online journalism lecturer at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, he established their flagship online newspaper, Communique Online as a formal module and developed its founding curriculum.
