It is I—Kevin of Wong—Master of Destinies! Ruler of Worlds! Conqueror of Dreams!

Ok, really though—here's my brain dump:

I've began graphic designing in 1998. My path has given me the opportunity to call myself web designer, paper cutter, ski bum, book designer, typographer, and brand shepherd. I'm smart, knowledgeable, and I know what I'm doing, finally.

Lettering, drawing, coloring, mark-making, printing, composing, user-interfacing, user-interacting, arranging, organizing, writing, editing, illustrating, creating—these are a few of the activities I involve myself with on the daily here in San Francisco. But—have laptop, will travel.

My education in design began in the 1990s with high school level classes in architectural drafting and calligraphy. By 1999, I graduated from a two-year graphics program in Seattle and bounced around jobs before I found work with extreme sports retailer Zumiez. In 2007 I received my BFA from Art Center College of Design with a focus on layout, typography, and letterpress printing techniques. Upon graduating, I took a position in Tracey Shiffman's studio, which specializes in creating catalogs for world renowned artists, institutions, and publishers.

On the historic day of Obama's first inauguration, I landed in San Francisco and began my hunt for work. Before long, I was working with the internet start-up KODA implementing pre-designed UI/UX and holding the helm of Brand Shepherd. By late 2010 it was decided to develop a new UI/UX for a revamped product based on the metrics we received over the past year. By 2011 I jumped into the Sea of Freelance and have been navigating the waters ever since. Projects have included Books, UI/UX for web and iOS, branding, advertising, and presentations. A LOT of presentations. Clients include IDEO, Autofuss, Moving Brands, and Madefire.

Over these years I've honed my eye, my mind, and developed the skills to be fast and nimble and creative within my environment. Somewhere further down my journey, my goal is to take what I've learned and share it with the next generation of designers and creatives.
