I graduated Suma Cum Laude from UC Santa Cruz, with a degree in Global Studies (Literature, Economics and Law), and a focus in Chinese history, policy, and economics.
Prior to that, I served as a Project Manager on local government infrastructure projects for six years. I managed federal contracts as a consultant to over 15 cities and five counties in California.
Since graduating, I spent several months at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), in Washington, DC, helping manage their online presence and producing over 30 hours of media each week to build their online presence. After CSIS, I came to the California Bay Area to get involved with technology start-ups as a way of making a bigger impact. It's been a great adventure, and we're making waves to create a better tomorrow.
I have been fortunate to have had many opportunities to travel, and can't help taking my work with me. I've spent time in 17 countries, and have studied in Japan, China, and the Czech Republic. I have also worked in two foreign offices - an Australia start-up, and NIKE Eastern Europe - produced a documentary in Japan, and bi-lingual business journal in Shanghai. The people Ive been lucky to have worked with on these endeavors have deepened my understanding and respect for the many differences and many similarities people share.
