I have two cars. Technically you should call them motor vehicles, because one is a truck while the other is a car. They are polar opposites in many ways. My car is white while my truck is black. The truck was born in 1966 and is the oldest living relative in my immediate family. She may be old, but she is a simple and reliable machine. My car; however, was born in the 21st century and is very complex and has lots of wiring and complex computers that only an aerospace engineer can understand. I never fully understood the term, “life was simpler back in my day” until I purchased my daily driver. My daily driver is my newer car, a four door BMW. Never in my life would I have imagined that one item could cause so many problems. Whether it was another part breaking on the engine, or randomly running out of oil on the freeway in the middle of nowhere, my car never seemed to want to help me. While I may love working on my car, I often find myself throwing tools around the garage, cursing in anger at how dumb “German Engineering” actually is. My heart has always been with the, “Oldie’ but a goodie.” I have created countless memories with my rather expensive investment. My parents yelled at me for weeks for my, “idiotic purchase” but it was well worth it. You can’t put a price on memories.
