I wear many different hats (which I feel is a necessary 21st century skill):

PROFESSIONAL:

I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Kentucky in Educational Sciences. Although housed in an Educational Leadership program, the degree format is interdisciplinary, meaning that I can specialize in a subject area outside of Education. My specialization is in informatics (collecting, managing, and analyzing data) and data visualization (turning the analyzed data into a pictorial representation for the benefit of all viewers. Although this field is embedded within medical sciences, I am on the brink of mainstreaming the area within the field of education. My anticipated date of graduation is May, 2014.

My professional skill sets include: All Adobe and Microsoft software, graphic design, data analysis (quantitative and qualitative), data mining, and website design.

My professional strengths include: Conference planning and implementation, organization, technological skills, presentation and communication, among many others.

PERSONAL:

In my spare time, I have many hobbies, interests, and projects. I teach college-aged students at my church about God on Sundays. My garage is a woodshop, in which I enjoy my independence in making furniture. I love to work with my hands. I play softball (old-man style) and basketball. My wife is in Dental School at the University of Kentucky and we enjoy traveling to see our family when given the opportunity. I am very didicated to whatever I am involved in, be it a basketball game or research project.
