Kevin Hankins
Richmond Kentucky
My name is Kevin Hankins. I am a 21-year-old, almost college graduate. I am originally from Louisville, KY, but I currently reside in Richmond, KY, where I am finishing up my degree in Music Industry, and enjoying my senior year as a member of the percussion studio at Eastern Kentucky University. Marching percussion has been a big part of my life, taking up most of my time and résumé, but I love it so I can't complain. Over the years, I've enjoyed experiences at the Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps, the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps, and the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps. I've also marched indoor with Tate's creek indoor, as well as Rhythm X since 2012, which I was fortunate enough to win a gold medal with in 2013 at the WGI world championships. I'm starting my final season of band right now with Rhythm X and it's shaping up to be a great one yet again. I just finished up my second season teaching high school marching percussion, and it was a very successful journey. Once again, the group of hard-working young adults I've worked with have become state finalists, and this year they even won their classes championship in the Mid-states circuit. I'm very proud of all of these kids and I know they will go on to do great things. I love teaching percussion to kids. I love giving lessons. So if your school needs someone to teach the percussion section, or someone to give lessons, I'm your guy!
