Kevin Hobbs

Kevin Hobbs is the CEO of the VanbexGroup & Vanbex Labs, a blockchain based firm based in Vancouver, Canada.

Vanbex is a company that has evolved from a strategic communications firm into a consultancy laboratory,leading ideas to launch and helping established companies and startups alike harness emerging technology for a changing world.

Kevin Hobbs brings over a decade of management experience to the firm after working in a variety of professional roles. He is particularly interested in how Blockchain technologies innovate how business is done in the future. He is regularly invited all over the world to speak at conferences in the blockchain and financial technology industries.

With his success at the Vanbex Group, Hobbs started to give back to charities like the United Way, Ronald McDonald house, Big Brothers,and other charities as he saw the need. He also created Vanbex Cares“a Charitable Organization” to adapt new blockchain & smart contract technology to help make charitable giving more transparent and efficient.

Kevin Hobbs’ road to entrepreneurship began after attending Dalhousie University in Halifax for business administration and management. He began his career as a day trader in 2005 for Swift Trade in Vancouver. From there, he went on to become Vice President of Sales and Marketing at DealSoftware.com, where he developed new software and turn key solutions for the Daily Deal industry.

In 2010, his career took him from the software industry to the energy space at Ensign Energy Services,where he would spend the next 4 years overseeing operations of the Rig in Alberta.

In 2015, Kevin Hobbs went back to the corporate trading world,accepting a position with FIRMA Foreign Exchange, one of the world's leading foreign exchange brokers (B2B) with locations across Canada,the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, and expanding in the United States. At FIRMA, Hobbs was responsible for the following areas: developing and maintaining relationships with small to large organizations; the sale of foreign currency to clients;
liaison for the clients; and relationship management to ensure all foreign exchange needs were addressed.

It was during this time that Hobbs realized the potential for the adoption of Blockchain, DLT, and Smart Contract technology into everyday real world applications. He joined the Vanbex Group as CEO in 2015 to further the company’s mission of driving blockchain's mainstream adoption by making its benefits accessible to anyone.
