I am an assistant professor of information systems (IS) in W. P. Carey School of Business. I hold a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems (MIS) at the Fox School of Business, Temple University. I graduated magna cum laude from Beijing Foreign Studies University (China) with a B.S. in Management and a B.A. in English Literature in 2009.
My research focuses on economic and behavioral issues in online labor markets, product uncertainty, social media and mobile targeting. My works appeared in journals such as MIS Quarterly (MISQ), Information Systems Research (ISR) and Journal of Global Information Management (JGIM), and conferences such as Workshop on Information Systems and Economics (WISE), Conference on Information Systems and Technology (CIST), International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), among others. Some of my papers won best paper award at ICIS, AMCIS and AOM. I also serve as a reviewer for journals such as Management Science, MISQ, ISR and JAIS, etc., and Hong Kong research grant counsel.
Prior to pursuing a Ph.D. in MIS, I have worked in the largest investment bank in China (China International Capital Corporation). Currently I am consulting several leading Internet-based companies such as Freelancer, fits.me, Ookong and Extole on projects such as reputation systems redesign, viral incentive systems design, etc.
I have served as a volunteer oral interpreter for several ambassadors for various sporting events when I was in college in Beijing, and I was an interpreter for the President of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Jacques Rogge in the 29th Olympic Games in 2008.
I am teaching database system design and business analytics classes at ASU. I am a firm believer that scientific and rational decision making based on consumer data can lead to enhanced performance for firms.
