Kevin Huttman

With a background spanning more than a quarter century in business development and international branding and marketing strategy, President of Forward Consulting, LLC, Kevin Huttman consults full time with the pharmaceutical leader Eli Lilly and Company. Mr. Huttman assists in building a viable molecular intervention and verification diagnostics business platform. His assigned roles include strategic market positioning, global branding, and in-depth operational plans. Prior to establishing his own consulting venture, Kevin Huttman spent 10 years with DuPont Qualicon, Inc. as President of its molecular microbiology and diagnostic devices global business unit. Mr. Huttman was fully accountable for profit and loss as well as developing numerous molecular diagnostics products from the research and development stages and taking them to worldwide commercialization. Among other achievements in this role, Mr. Huttman introduced RiboPrinter systems to clinical hospital, epidemiology, and hospital markets. He also heralded RiboPrinter through the FDA approvals process. The first successful commercialization of fully automated genetic fingerprinting systems, RiboPrinter is utilized in identifying, characterizing, and isolating microorganisms. RiboPrinter systems are also used in major pharmaceutical and personal care products companies for their quantitative analysis. During his time with DuPont, Mr. Huttman developed his own polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analyzer and proprietary optical and software, and corresponding reagent tests kits. He established the Bax brand of molecular diagnostics for detection of foodborne pathogens. Filling an unmet consumer need, this quickly became the leading testing platform in the market. Kevin Huttman’s overall efforts resulted in a sustained turnaround of one of DuPont’s lowest performing business units. He established operations in nearly 30 countries, providing DuPont with one of its highest margin segments and exceeding sales expectations and forecasts for 16 consecutive quarters. In recognition of this, Mr. Huttman was awarded the 2009 DuPont Marketing Award. Prior to working at DuPont, Kevin Huttman gained 16 years of experience in the diagnostics industry, including leading the start-up of IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., where he personally hired 60 new sales and marketing personnel focused on the companion animal market. Later he proposed, then established, a new business within the company, with easy to use, field-viable/no-in
