Kevin Knodell

Kevin is an award winning journalist and author. He as written, edited and shot photos for small town newspapers, national magazines and digital new media companies. He currently reports on defense and diplomacy in Hawai'i and the greater Pacific.

He has filed stories from battlefields in Iraq and Syria, from ships underway in the Pacific Ocean and reported on wildfires in the American West and on Maui. Over the course of his career he has interviewed Green Berets, Syrian rebel fighters, bikers, refugees, hip hop producers, cops, CEOs, pole dancers and politicians.

His work has appeared in Foreign Policy Magazine, Playboy Magazine, The Daily Beast, Vice, The Nib, Coffee or Die Magazine, Crosscut and others.

He is also a producer of the Angry Planet Podcast and the co-author of the graphic novels The 'Stan and Machete Squad.
