Kevin Mercuri

Kevin Mercuri is the founder and CEO of Propheta Communications, a New York City-based public relations, social media, and fractional CMO agency specializing in startup public relations and early-stage company growth. With more than three decades of experience in public relations, corporate communications, and public affairs, Mercuri has led high-impact campaigns across technology, FinTech, artificial intelligence, gaming, healthcare, and consumer sectors.

At Propheta Communications, Mercuri and his team focus on helping startups and emerging companies build credibility, establish category leadership, and accelerate market adoption through strategic media relations and thought leadership. Prior to founding the firm in 2008, he served as Senior Vice President at 5W Public Relations, contributing to the agency’s rapid growth into an Inc. 500 company. He has also held leadership roles at Edelman’s PR 21.

Mercuri began his career in Washington, D.C., working in public affairs and lobbying for organizations including the Internet Alliance, AIDS Action Council, and Interactive Gaming Council. A FinTech PR strategist, he is currently an Executive-in-Residence at Emerson College, where he teaches public relations, public affairs, and crisis communications.
