Kevin Mercuri

Kevin A. Mercuri is a seasoned public relations professional and educator with more than thirty years of experience in the industry. He and his team at Propheta Communications have worked with clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. He holds experience in a variety of fields, including technology, business, lifestyle, public health, and academia. He currently serves as Executive in Residence at Emerson College, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in public relations.
Before founding Propheta Communications, Kevin served as Senior Vice President of the Technology division at 5W Public Relations, helping the agency grow from a boot-strapped start-up to an Inc. 500 company during his five-year tenure. Prior to 5W, Kevin led PR teams at Edelman’s PR21 and other agencies, where he worked with clients across multiple sectors.
In addition to his agency and academic work, Kevin served as a lobbyist for the Washington, DC-based Internet Alliance, working with a wide range of technology leaders from AOL to Citibank's nascent online banking division. Kevin’s team created industry standards for the online banking and gaming industries, ensuring that fledgling technologies avoided burdensome government regulation.
Kevin earned his bachelor's and master’s degrees from Emerson College, where he now teaches.
