Kevin Scalir
I don't like saying No.
If there's a way that it can get done, it *will* get done. For over 20 years I've produced, shot, written and edited great TV. Usually short-format news-style, but any kind of visual storytelling is right up my alley. Sure, I can also do live TV. I've done liveshots where no liveshots should have been able to go (on a moving boat? No problem.)Now that IPTV is an industry standard, I've been wracking my brain for new ways to use this amazing technology. Have you done a 1-person, 2-camera Live-U liveshot with a go-pro mounted on a roller coaster and the talent live on an iphone? I have (and it was cool!)
I'm a huge proponent of backpack-style journalism and production. I believe that traveling light with the right equipment and staff is not only a better value, but ultimately creates a better product.I'm also a really good manager and motivator. I believe in order to motivate you need to first find a person's strength, then use that strength to create a drive to learn and ultimately succeed.
Here's a partial list of things I'm really good at:
- Videographer (Any camera, any digital format)
- Editor (Premiere Pro and Avid MC Expert)
- After Effects- Adobe Creative Suite
- Audio sweetening, mixing, editing
- Signal/Systems and IT Troubleshooting
- LiveU (Portable and Server)
- Dejero (Portable and Server)
- 2.5Gig Microwave Video Transmission/Receive
- KU/C/KA Satellite (including internet for IPTV)
If you're looking for a button-pusher or a paper-shuffler please move on. However, if you want a serious, dedicated creative team player and/or manager then drop me a line. Let's see how we can make great digital media together.
