Kevin Walsh

Kevin Walsh

Kevin Walsh is a sports anchor and reporter for Comcast SportsNet New England. His career has run the gamut of events big and small. He covered the 2011 Stanely Cup Champion Boston Bruins, conducting the most comprehensive locker room interviews of all major media. He also followed the 2008 World Champion Philadelphia Phillies, and joined them on their visit to the White House. That’s a long way from where his sports career started in the U.S. Territory of Guam, where popular sports included spear fishing and coconut husking. Kevin was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Service Award in 2010 from Boston’s District Rotary Convention. Prior to arriving in New England, Kevin did work for Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and The Comcast Network. His career has also taken him to Fresno, California and Hawaii. Kevin attended Purdue University on a golf scholarship, and was an Academic All Big 10 Athlete. When he’s not covering the New England sports scene, or playing hockey, he’s often at work on his next book. His first published book, The Marrow in Me, details Kevin’s emotional journey to transplant, after he turned up as a very rare bone marrow match for a 16-year-old football player he’d never met. A Dog to Lead Us Home is the inspiring story of how Kevin and his dog found his father’s childhood home in suburban Boston, despite no prior knowledge of its location. A Dog to Lead Us Home is scheduled for release in the November of 2011. Kevin is married with two daughters. He lives in the Metro West Boston suburbs.
