Hello, welcome to my page.
My full name is Katayoun, but most people call me Kate. I am a lecturer at the University of Southampton. I am working on machine learning in the VLC group. The focus of my research is on methods (based on machine learning) for mining meaningful information from large scale mobile phone data (also called Reality Mining). I also work on mobile phone sensed data-driven applications - basically, applications which can make use of human behaviour knowledge extracted from mobile sensed data. One example is the simulation of epidemics from mobile sensed physical proximity data.
