Katherine Lam
Boston, Massachusetts, United States
I want to live in a world where traveling involves just simply teleporting, dark chocolate is a staple food in everyone’s diet, and a camera with an everlasting battery is attached to my hand at all times to capture spontaneous moments.
But for now, I’m a multimedia journalist creating news stories based on national and local Boston issues and events through videos, writings, and photos. My journalistic passion came during my senior year in high school, when I was part of my town’s student-run TV news program. There, I was always excited to edit, report, and find relevant and compelling stories to tell.
I brought my New York City and Jersey style to Boston University where I’m a part-time host and journalist of On That Point, a political debate show bringing national and international issues to BU students. I’ve covered local crime to animal rescue stories at Boston Fox 25 and have also interviewed and written profiles on talented performers when I’m not flexing my editing pen at WBUR the ARTery. I’ve worked with different content management systems and have experience editing and formatting videos, pictures, and articles for the final published product.
With a background in international relations, I want to specialize in reporting on global events using people’s voices and first-hand accounts.
I'm a food lover, adrenaline junkie, and a NYC native living in the wicked city of Boston studying at Boston University. I want to backpack, eat, and discover my way through all seven continents before I’m 30—with a notebook, pen, and Go-Pro in hand. Call me Katherine, Kat, or even Klam, but don’t think curiosity kills the cat here. Check out my portfolio where you can see some of my latest works.
