Katie Giammarino

Katie began pursuing her love of dance at a very young age. Born and raised in Calgary, AB she began training with Absolute Dance Inc. performing numerous years of competition in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Musical Theatre, and Pointe as well as successfully completing exams in the RAD Ballet syllabus up to the advanced levels. During this time she was able to partake in multiple performance opportunities such as the Harlem Globetrotters Pre Game Show, Jeanneh Bekers "Fashion Has No Borders" Trade Show, multiple appearances on Breakfast Television, performing at the Epcot Centres "Disney Magic Music Days", as well as training with various names in the industry such as Mindy Conto, Joey Braunwarth, DangerKat, Joey Matt, Sabrina Phillips, Faye Rauw, Erika Serbu and Sarah Dolan. After high school, she went on to pursue her career in Toronto at George Brown College in the Commercial Dance Program. Under the direction of Derek Sangster, Katie was able to train under a number of credible names including GADFLY (Apolonia Velasquez & Ofilio Sinbadhino), Patricia Ferlisi, Cynthia Macedo, Karen Andrews, Dana Bondy, Nicola Pantin, Robert Allen, Ryan Kelly and Chris Tsujiuchi. Recently discovering her love for Urban styles and Hip-Hop culture, she continually trains throughout the city of Calgary in all styles of hip-hop, and has recently created her own Jazz Funk Heels class with the collaboration of her fellow classmate, Madison Evans; empowering women through the understanding of sexuality, building confidence and individual growth. As her career in the industry is just beginning, Katie is eager and ready to tackle any opportunity that may arise, and is looking forward to sharing her unique style and dedication to the dance community.
