Khadem Al Qubaisi is an award-winning Emirati businessman and investor, who became globally known through his groundbreaking success as Managing Director of Abu Dhabi's International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC).

The business acumen and rich knowledge Al Qubaisi brought to his leadership role at IPIC were developed over several years, through a Bachelor's degree in Economics and rich experience gained as a Senior Financial Analyst and international Investment Manager.

Al Qubaisi trademark leadership style at IPIC saw him treble the value of the company's asset portfolio over a five year period, and massively diversify the types of investments and partnerships made. Building on IPIC's excellent reputation and deep knowledge of the oil and gas market, Al Qubaisi adopted a strategy of global investment diversification which led the energy investment company to branch out into new dynamic sectors worldwide, and invest in real estate, aerospace, sports and financial services. He facilitated this business transformation through the acquisition of a stake in diversified investment company Aabar Investments – in 2008, only a year after becoming IPIC's Managing Director – and slowly grew the company's share in Aabar to over 98%.

Khadem Al Qubaisi is now not only the Chairman of Aabar Investments, but also holds this powerful position in several IPIC subsidiaries, including Compañía Española de Petróleos, NOVA Chemicals, and Borealis AG. Under his leadership Aabar made several high profile acquisitions outside the pertochemicals industry, including stakes in Virgin Galactic, Tesla Motors, Daimler AG and Mercedes GP.
