Khairunnisa Ash'ari

I run Green Brunei, which is a youth-led social enterprise dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability through education, conservation and advocacy. We were established in 2012 and have primarily be focusing on organising tree planting, cleanups, youth camps, school talks, workshops and recycling programmes.

In addition, I am currently the President of the Brunei Youth Council, which is a national coordinating agency of youth organisations and initiatives. We promote active youth participation as well as provide more opportunities for youth to be involved not just as beneficiaries but also as partners in development.

I am also a Legislative Council Member since 2017, serving communities directly to promote their welfare and capacity development.

I received the National Youth Service Award in 2013, ASEAN Youth Award in 2014, Queen's Young Leaders Award in 2015 and the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik in 2016.

I am a Chevening alumnus, IVLP alumnus and One Young World speaker.
