Khalil is a graduate from University of Bonn Germany, with an MSc in Economics. He specializes in Market Policy and Marketing Research. His expertise lies in economic analysis, CSR, innovation commercialization, market analytics, and competitiveness. He also holds an MBA (Marketing) from Hamdard University Karachi. Khalil has multidisciplinary experience of working with international organizations like University of Bonn, USAID, Friedrich Naumann Foundation, HEC-FAD and Competitiveness Support Fund of Pakistan, competitiveness Institute of Spain. Khalil also has experience of working with corporate clients of Pakistan like, WATEEN Telecom and Tetra Pak. As consultant he has worked for Competition Commission of Pakistan and developed a comprehensive report on cement industry of Pakistan.
Khalil along with some academic publications in international journals is also author of two books which are actually his technical reports printed in form of books. He is co author of the book titled “Economic Freedom sub-national Index”, this book covers the economic freedom of Pakistan at provincial level. This diagnostic study provided ample knowledge about the level of freedom existing in different provinces of Pakistan. His second book is “Political Economy of Sugarcane”. This book deals with the situation of sugarcane growers and role of government in sugarcane industry. This book is result of country wide survey of stakeholders of sugarcane industry namely, sugarcane growers, sugarcane traders, sugar mills, sugar retailers and consumers.
Khalil has presented his research papers in various international conferences. His one paper titled “Comparative analysis of marketing externalities and process knowledge spillovers among various industrial clusters of Pakistan (2010)” has been accepted in European regional conference held in Tallinn Estonia. This paper covers the role of various externalities emanating from firms agglomeration.
Mr. Khalil A. Arbi is currently working at University of Management and Technology Lahore as Assistant Professor. He is program head of Master in Banking and Finance and Master of Sales and Marketing Management. He has introduced two innovative Master programs in the university namely Master in Agribusiness and Master in Social Enterprise Management.
