My name is Khalil Malik Thompson and I was born on September 13th, 1996. Growing up in Rowland, North Carolina, I attended and graduated from South Robeson High School. I was honored to graduate with a 3.6 GPA and Magna Cum Laude. I am currently a sophomore at North Carolina Central University majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Media. My ultimate career goal is to become a sports writer for a major NBA team such as the Charlotte Hornets or Atlanta Hawks. As well a writer for the NFL team such as the Carolina Panthers or a team close to home. the reason why I want to become a sports writer is because of my love of sports. I love talking as well as discussing and writing about sports such as football and basketball.
The motto I live by is ''The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today''. I try to do my best today so I can have a bright future tomorrow. Doing my best today also ensures I can have a bright future not only for myself, but for my family, friends, and maybe one day my children. I strive to make sure the people that matter the most are well taken care of while I am away attending school at NCCU. Hopefully one day my hard work and trials and tribulations will work in my favor and I can achieve the goal of having my dream job. The ultimate goal I have is to not only be the man my mom and grandparents want me to be, but the man I've always wanted to become. My journey here at NCCU has made me an overall better person because of the different trials I have faced. Being a full time student has cause to grow up and take full responsibilities for my own self and well-being. I have faced many obstacles that have threatened to knock me down haven't and I'm still standing trying to be a better man and learn from my mistakes.
