My name is Khayelihle Mahlangu I am a third year Bachelor of Education (BEd) student at the University of Johannesburg. I currently reside at Westdene a small suburb in the west of Johannesburg. My interests range from music to painting. I am also interested in video games, History, and readings by Fyodor Dostoevsky. My deep admiration of past events and generally being a custodian of memories is what eventually made me choose teaching as a career path.

I strongly believe that all learners should have some historical understanding, therefore it is my duty as an aspiring teacher to ensure that every learner has the opportunity to engage with the past in a way that is relevant, critical, and thought-provoking. I am a novice history and language teacher in the making and I strive to make inclusive, learner-orientated, and engaging lessons. I esnsure this by constantly upgrading my technological and digital knowledge to match that of present day learners.

As a 21st Century teacher in the making I will aspire curious, critical thinking, responsible and compassionate members of society. I believe that studying languages and the events of the past will help equip the learners I will teach with values and skills that are essential in South African and Global societies.
