Back my campaign

Hi, I’m Sheli. I’m a student living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The goal of this campaign is to help avoid and deal with cyber-bullying, by giving parents the tools and information needed to be prepared to keep their kids safe. The goal is to teach parents how to have their kids avoid cyber-bullying altogether, but if it happens they'll also have the proper resources to handle it.

The website in the description is filled with resources such as educators, other parents, adult victims, and tips on how to compile evidence. As well as facts, statistics, laws pertaining to cyber-bullying and much more. If you or your child is being harassed online, a good first step is screen-shotting the messages, for proof in the case that the law needs to get involved.

https://cyberbullying.org/Statistics show close to 34% of students acknowledge that they have experienced cyber-bullying, and bullying victims are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider committing suicide and engage in substance abuse. Cyber-bullying is very common, and can happen to anybody, which is why it's so important to be prepared.

The links to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube are made available for you to become familiar with the topic, stay updated, and explore your facts and options. YouTube can be for you if you like to be informed by listening/watching, while twitter can send you notifications and keep you updated, and Facebook is if you want to join a group and participate more with this cause, to protect yourself and your family/friends. People should have the right to feel safe online, and this campaign's goal is to help inform you on how to spot and avoid these issues.
