They say that the first and last thought of your day is your true calling in life.

For me, that is freeze framing life, every little bit of it.

I have a constant burning desire, a need to capture precious moments. From a breathtakingly surreal landscape, to an individual's natural beauty, or a simple object's impact in its greater surroundings ... anything that triggers emotion.

I love that memories and feelings are able to be captured in such a raw and tangible format. Images should last well beyond the present moment in which they were captured. Upon later viewing, they should instantaneously trigger the same emotions to those that experienced them first hand, or have just as greater impact on a total stranger.

Raised and home schooled in North West Queensland on a cattle station with my four siblings, I knew I wasn't destined for an ordinary life. I was one of those kids dying to go to boarding school in the 'big smoke', where the opportunities were exciting and endless - I wanted a taste of it all! I felt there was so much more to me than the simplicities of farm life.

My family has always encouraged variety and growth. I now know that my 'out of the ordinary' and well rounded upbringing has given me an experience and desire to fearlessly embrace the unknown, to never stop living, learning and travelling.

I'm a perfectionist, yet I love the unpredictable. I adore travel, but still feel the magic of my own backyard. I love familiarity, but even more so strangers who meander into my life and fill me with incredible stories and perspectives. I love the outdoors, adventure, a balanced life, colourful fresh food, sunshine, snow, the ocean, the mountains. I love finding the extraordinary in the ordinary.

There are truly too many tremendous things in life to only experience and love a one or two things. I don't want to forget that, and perhaps that's why I love capturing every little bit of it.
