Hire me

Hello, my name is Kiara Edwards and I was born in Barrie, Ontario in 1998. I have a younger brother and sister and am lucky enough to have a seemingly endless list of pets including three dogs, two cats, a hedgehog, a bearded dragon, chickens and ducks at my family home in Baxter Ontario. In my free time, I can usually be found either painting, volunteering or spending time with my family and pets. Growing up in a small town, I was very lucky to be involved in a variety of sports teams throughout my childhood, particularly baseball, ball hockey and competitive dance. As I grew up, I continued to love these sports and eventually taught dance once I reached high school. It was through my experience as a dance instructor that I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life teaching.

I began my studies at Laurentian University in 2016, after deciding to pursue a career in Education. I plan to graduate with a Bachelor of Science (major in Biology and minor in English Literature) in the spring of 2020 and with a Bachelor of Education (Junior/Intermediate stream with sciences) in the spring of 2021. After graduation, I would like to complete my Special Education and Primary ABQ courses. I would love to teach in a remote community somewhere in Canada upon my graduation. I look forward to being in the teaching profession because I am passionate about teaching children to love learning and want to make a difference in the community I live in.
