Kieran Furey
Writer in Curraghroe, Ireland
Born in Curraghroe, Co Roscommon in 1953 and educated in Summerhill College, Sligo and University College Galway. I lived in Dublin for 15 years and I have self-published over 20 books of short stories, satire, poetry and travel material.
Well- travelled, I spent 6 years in Latin America. In 2001, I was selected to read as part of Poetry Ireland's Introductions series. In 2007, I was the overall winner of the Feile Filiochta Poem of Europe for my poem ‘El Tren’.
Having lived in Longford town for many years, I now live back home in Curraghroe, outside Strokestown, Co. Roscommon. I am a member of Lanesboro Writers Group as well as the Hibernian workshop.
