I believe that life is a “bit of time and a lot of relationship.” Therapy is one of those relationships where healing, change, support, and growth can emerge. As a therapist I want to partner with clients that are invested in each of these things as part of addressing past and present wounds and reach a greater sense of personal fulfillment. This therapeutic process can take place in a family system, couples/marriage context, or with an individual. I specialize in: anxiety, depression, parent-child conflict, crisis/trauma, relationships, parenting issues, family stressors, and school/work related issues.
Additionally, I have extensive experience in working with youth and parents to address issues such as: delinquency, oppositional/conduct behaviors, school problems, social challenges, poor self-esteem, drug/alcohol abuse, problem sexual behaviors, and emotional disorders. These issues can greatly impact the child, parent and family system, often requiring professional support and guidance to “make it through” adolescence.
In this therapeutic partnership, we start where you are in life and work together to reach greater fulfillment and promote a healthy sense of self and change. I also enjoy, but am not limited to, conducting therapy in a more experiential, outdoor context as I believe the experience and the great outdoors have beneficial tools for learning and challenging ourselves that can be generalized to the rest of our lives.
