Kiff Gallagher

San Francsico

Professionally, I'm an independent consultant at Discovery Communications, Thumbtack and Chris Wayne & Assoc. in Washington D.C. I'm also President and Chair of MusicianCorps in San Francisco, CA.

I served under President Clinton on the White House legislative team that created AmeriCorps. At the Corporation for National Service, I managed a $15MM portfolio in education, health, public safety and the environment. Later, at Odwalla, Inc., I oversaw communications, brand strategy and corporate responsibility. I then became President of Social Venture Network, a national organization for CEOs and investors, I was an early advocate in the movements for social entrepreneurship, sustainable business and impact investing. I've guest lectured at business schools and leadership forums nationwide on creativity, brand engagement, and social impact.

Music has always been a big part of my life. In D.C. I wrote, produced and performed in a hip-hop/ acid jazz project. After I left SVN, I wrote and produced two critically praised, pop-rock albums which are licensed commercially on radio, TV and digital media worldwide. At my company, PeaceLabs Music, I finally integrated my personal and professional passions in launching a “musical Peace Corps,” MusicianCorps.

I've consulted internationally for the State Department and the Gates Foundation, served as an advisor to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign and transition for arts policy, and honored with awards and recognition from the the Aspen Institute, the James Irvine Foundation, GQ Magazine and St. Paul's School Alumni Association.

I went to Wesleyan University in CT. I grew up playing soccer, hockey and skiing. Beyond music, I'm passionate about natural foods, products, lifestyle; markets and investing; global networks that advance human progress; strategies to stregthen our democracy and economy such as campaign fiance reform, civic engagement, service and corporate social innovation.

WHY KIFF?

Folks ask about my nickname...When I was born, my sister Caity called me “Kiffifer" instead of "Christopher." Since "Chris" G (Sr.) was dad's name, everyone knew me as Kiff, Kiffer, or Kiffy til
