I am so very proud to say that I am an Okie from Muskogee, Oklahoma, that is!!! I’ve always had a passion for teaching and learning, ever since I was very young. Throughout my years in education, I have truly fallen in love with not only teaching children but helping adults grow as educational leaders as well. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Education degree from Langston University, located in Langston, Oklahoma, in 2005. I received my Masters of Education Administration degree from Concordia University at Austin in 2011. I have worked in various roles within education for over 20 years. In 2005, my daughter (who is 25 now, married, a mommy to my sweet Peachy Brown, and teaching 5th grade) and I moved to North Dallas where I began the start of my teaching career as a Texas Educator. I had the pleasure of teaching 3rd grade for many years before being promoted to a Campus Reading Specialist (Certified Literacy Coach) and Instructional Coach and now as an Assistant Principal for 8 years. I served as a Campus Instructional Coach (Curriculum Admin) where I worked with all grade levels Pre-K-5th and all teachers on developing the best consistent teaching practices for all students in all curricular areas. I served in that role for 3 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Upon entering my 20th year of education, I am elated to be a part of a dynamic district and amazing schools where we are dedicated to making sure that all students are succeeding . My goal each year is to learn more, grow myself and others and serve our wonderful community. I want to help continue the work that we as Educators do heartfelt day in and day out for all of our scholars! Be AMAZING!
