I am so lucky to have a job that I love, working with a diverse group of students who strive to be the best they can be. I believe that all students are capable of learning and that it is my job to assist them to become life-long learners and risk takers. It's not about knowing everything, or memorizing facts, it's about thinking creatively and working out solutions to problems, knowing how to find answers when you don't know something.
It's okay to make mistakes. The point is that we learn from our mistakes. In life we are faced with a variety of choices, I try to help my students make good choices and instill a sense of global responsibility in them. The world is constantly growing smaller. This presents an opportunity for students and teachers to work together to understand each other and the changing world in which we live.
Schools are extended families. We have a partnership with parents, students and other staff members. It is the responsibility of each member of the family to support and encourage the other members to reach their fullest potential.
Learning should be fun! I have enjoyed working in Title 1 schools in the United States and spent three years at the American International School in Vienna, Austria. I have experience co-teaching and working in both pull-out and plug-in models. I am open to new teaching experiences and enjoy learning right along with my students.
