Kim Wetherald

Tinley Park

My name is Kim Wetherald and I am a junior at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. My major is Public Relations with a minor in Hospitality. During my amazing time at EIU, I have become a very involved student.

To begin with, I am a full-time student that works herself through school. I have three jobs at EIU. I am an Admissions Ambassador for Eastern, this means that I welcome prospective and transfer students, give guided tours, and also help work events for the Office of Admissions, for example an open house. Secondly, I am a Telecounselor for the office of admissions. Telecounseling involves calling prospective students and entering data into an online database. Finally, I am a Fitness Instructor at EIU. I teach classes from toning to Zumba! Seeing how I am helping other people through fitness is definately rewarding and satisfying.

Along with my jobs, I also am heavily involved in Registered Student Organizations, or RSOs. I am in the National Society for Collegiate Scholars, which I serve as the head of Public Relations for. I am in Lambda Pi Eta, which is my departamental honors fraternity. Being in Lambda Pi Eta means that I am an honors student and I am also completing undergraduate research. Lastly, I also hold an execuative board position for Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity.

I plan on graduating from EIU in the spring of 2015 with a Bachelors in Communication Studies, Public Relations and a minor in Family and Consumer Sciences, Hospitality. I have not yet decided fully on when or where I will be attending grad school.

I love everything I do during these college years, especially making new friends and having new experiences everyday!
