I am a school counselor at Red Bank Elementary School. As a counselor, I help children learn to make healthy choices emotionally, socially, and academically. I also serve as a support to teachers and families.
While this is my fourth year at Red Bank, it is my twenty-first year as a school counselor. I have experiece as a counselor at both the elementary and middle school levels. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I spent nine years teaching students in special education classes.
My undergraduate degree in Special Education was completed in 1977 at from East Carolina University. In 1985 I received a M. Ed. in School Counseling from the College of William and Mary. My teaching certifications for South Carolina include Special Education in the areas of EMD and TMD and School Counseling at both the elementary and secondary levels. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early Childhood through Adulthood/School Counseling and a certified Global Career Development Facilitator. My professional memeberships include the American School Counselor Association and Palmetto State School Carolina Association.
