A recent article asserted the ideal COO is the "ultimate generalist - able to identify and retain the big picture, willing to learn something about everything, and consistently contributing on a meaningful level to every aspect of a business as well as the greater community". That definition fit my professional profile for quite some time, but I have since launched my own advisory firm to balance my need for the "external" as well.
As CEO and Chief Strategy Officer for Escalate Solutions, I help grow and sustain organizations by offering cross-functional guidance and tactics centered upon strategy, alignment, implementation and optimization solutions.
Additionally, through other professional and volunteer activities I am able to blend my commitment to overlapping economic, business, community, philanthropic and political interests. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and on the Advisory Board for the Metro State University College of Business, Center for Entrepreneurship. Past boards include Worth Group Architects, P.C., Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce, The Rise School of Denver (Chair), Circle of Red and Executive Leadership Team Member Go Red for Women | American Heart & Stroke Assn. I was a Great Woman of Gaming in 2011, Denver Business Journal Outstanding Woman in Business in 2014, Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year in 2015, the American Heart | Stroke Association Volunteer of the Year in 2015, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year (Rocky Mtn Region) in 2016.
The two most inspiring people in my life are my twins, age 10. My daughter has bravely fought a number of life threatening issues including heart, cancer and stroke. Her healthy brother is also a warrior that has endured more than any child should. Together, we have an appreciation for life that most people never find.
In a snapshot, who am I? An undeniably busy but thriving single mom, business owner, community leader, volunteer, traveler, Colorado (and Denver Broncos) lover, cancer hater, skier, runner, terrible golfer and overall difference maker.
