Amherst, Massachusetts

My name is Kimberly Jones but most people know me as Kim. I'm a girl of many nicknames: Kimmy, Kiki, Lil Kim, Kimbo Slice, Mike Jones...you name it. I'm a junior in the Isenberg School of Managment at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I'm studying Hospitality and Tourism Management with hopes of one day being able to travel the world.

My desire to travel stems from growing up in a small New England town. I have lived in the same town, the same house, and even the same bedroom for my entire life. I'm constantly in my comfort zone and so I'm constantly itching to see new places.

On a side note from traveling, I have a nerdy obsession with planes. If I'm ever in Boston, I drag whoever I'm with to sit on the Boston Harbor for even just a few minutes so I can watch flights take off and land. My dad and I like to lounge on our back porch and try to figure out where each plane above us is going. I'm one of few who enjoys being in an airport and feels the safest while on a plane. That being said, I'd love to learn to fly one day. Maybe I'll become the next Amelia Earhart! (but hopefully not in every way...)

With my (future) Hospitality degree, I hope that I will be able to achieve my dream of seeing the world. I know it seems cliche...a young woman aspiring to travel...but I truly feel passion when it comes to seeing new things and meeting new people, and that's exactly how I see my future. I have hopes of not only traveling for vacation, but being able to live in several different locations. Home will never go away, so why not go see what else is out there!
