Kimberly Manning

Kim Manning graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Magazine Journalism in 2010, but not before she spent her summer gallivanting through Italy drinking wine, eating pizza and gelato, and blogging about the entire experience.

Before graduating, she spent a semester as the Co-Editor of the Departments section at Columbia's award-winning publication, Echo Magazine. Through creating an entire magazine from scratch, she gained first-hand experience collaborating with a team of writers, editors, graphic designers and photographers.

She has maintained a steady flow of freelance jobs with Mapless Records, Serious Gourmet LLC and IndieMade. She has also contributed to Poor Taste, Indie Shuffle, Alarm Magazine and was a senior staff writer for Pop 'stache for about two years.

However, when she was not moonlighting as a wicked music journalist, she was an Ecommerce Copywriter at Sage Tree LLC compiling product information such as descriptions, hidden keywords/SEO to aid in sales and productivity. The essential team-player environment, yet virtual offices of Sage Tree enforced the best of both worlds with independent work and constant communication.

After Sage Tree, she worked at Brafton, a content marketing agency. Starting as a News and Content Writer, Kim churned out 4,000 words a day and edited 4,000 to 8,000, which helped boost her into the Senior Writer position. As a Senior Writer, she interviewed industry professionals, worked with clients who required a high level of subject matter expertise and aided new writers with everyday issues.

Spending most of her time in the independent entertainment industry, Kim has dabbled in music licensing, public relations, radio broadcasting, street teaming and social media marketing.
