I'm a problem-solver and an advocate for children and families. When I see injustice, I speak out, organize others, and work diligently for change.

For the past 20-years, I've built powerful organizations to amplify citizens voices.

I've either led or been a part of critical policy change to improve the lives of nearly 30 million women, children and families across the globe.

Career Impact Highlights:

Co-founded DC Hunger Solutions, an anti-hunger advocacy group organizing parents and the community to advocate for economic security and nutrition policies that strengthen children and families in the District of Columbia.

Served on President Bill Clinton’s entrepreneurial team that built and scaled nationally the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. Using the power of partnerships and policy, the Alliance works with schools, youth-serving organizations, and businesses to build healthier communities and empower more than 28 million kids to develop lifelong healthy habits.

Co-created Girl Up, an international campaign of the United Nations Foundation, training more than 40,000 American adolescent girls of all backgrounds to create tangible change for millions of girls everywhere -- increasing health care, education, and democratic participation for girls in developing countries.

Led DC Vote as executive director for three and a half years tripling membership through citizen-led neighborhood canvasses and events; led a winning self-determination campaign and voter ballot initiative to free the city’s budget from congressional control; catapulted the DC voting rights agenda into the historic 2016 presidential election.

I went on to join Hillary’s 2016 campaign bid for President. In 2017, I earned an executive leadership certificate from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business Executive Education.

These days you can find me leading DC Action for Children, ramping up the organization's resources, human capital, and networks to break down structural barriers that stand in the way of all kids reaching their full potential. Join us!

When I'm not working you can find me at home perfecting a new recipe, watching or making documentaries, salsa dancing, or on a hiking trail.
