Hello friends!

I’m Kim. I’m a teacher who works in Avon Maitland DSB and Waterloo Region DSB. I'm in my second year of teaching and I'm absolutely loving it! So far, I have had 2 LTAs with intermediate students, but I hope to learn more about primary methodology and teaching strategies.

I am a fan of fine arts and graphic design. I love creating and helping others do the same. I am also passionate about science and really like to engage my students in STEAM projects.

Outside of school, I design characters and create cards. I'm a little nerdy… I do enjoy playing video games (when I have the time) and play D&D on a regular basis (I've been in a campaign for the last 2 years now). I also love to cook and I like yoga.

As far as primary experience goes, I don't have much in the classroom. I do tutor students grade 1-3 and have working with the Primary division through science extracurriculars (my favourite was making slime with them while talking chemistry). I had one fantastic practicum where I was the homeroom of a grade 8 class and had 1 period where I would teach grade 1s art. I was such a different, but fantastic experience. I hope in my career as a teacher, I can have that set up again!
