Kimberly Kammerer

Hello! My name is Kimberly Kammerer. I am a 33 year old, who attends ECU. I am entering my Junior year. I graduated high school, and got married, in June of 1995. I had full intentions of moving on to Christian Life College, in Stockton California, with my new husband, but in early August of the same year, we found out I was pregnant. Since I had no idea how to get through a pregnancy on my own, without my mother, I stayed here in Jacksonville, and gave up my scholarship to CLC. I have 3 beautiful boys, ages 15, 13 and 11. I don't regret one day, that I took a different path, but now that they are older, it is time for me to finish the degree I put on hold. At the time, I had planned to be a music major, but since God blessed me with a special needs child, I have since changed my mind, and as of January of this year, I am now a Sped Major. I recently celebrated 16 years of marriage to my best friend, and the love of my life. He is the only one who works, since I resigned from my job as a Teacher's Assistant, last June, in order to finish my degree and home school my children. I am so excited about the new direction in my life, BUT it did add a lot of time on to my degree, since only 2 to 3 of my music credits transferred. I don't mind because I know it will be worth it in the end. I am a lead singer in the group SafeHouse. I teach Sunday School, direct the children's choir, am a Bible Quiz coach, head up the hospitality team at church, praise sing, sing in the choir, teach Bible studies, sell Mary Kay, lead music for VBS, and work with the youth of our church, as a counselor, during camp season. I love to sing, go to the beach, read, and TALK! The priorities in my life are as follows, GOD, my family, my church and school. I won't put anything before my time with God, including working at the church because I learned that doing things at church doesn't constitute time spent with God. I also won't put church and school before my family, so it is quite interesting to juggle all that I do, with an hour of prayer a day and 2 hours of quality family time. I don't have a television, so it is much easier to spend time together, but it is still a juggling act sometime:) If there is anything else you want to know, just ask!!
