Born and raised in New Jersey, Kimbrella Renea Gatewood began writing at the age of 10. She discovered a true passion for poetry in her senior year of high school. Her roots as a poet and spoken word artist began in 2002, with her first live open mic performance at Nell's Night Club in Manhattan, New York. Her poetry also appeared in the 2005 Volume 13, No. 2 issue of a poetry blog column in Vibe Magazine, "Say Word".
Kimbrella Renea entered the world of internet poetry in 2013 and later joined a TalkShoe Radio poetry network, Penology Ink. She went on to become a prominent member of EPiphany Radio/The 4Real Entertainment Network, founded by CEO, Author and Spoken Word Artist, Forrealthepoet Douglass. Kimbrella Renea has hosted two EPiphany Radio open mic platforms on BlogTalk Radio: Late Night Fiyah and she is currently one of five hosts of Keeping It Real/The Inspiration Factory.
Kimbrella Renea's 1st internet radio feature was on Black Satin Radio's BlogTalk Radio platform, Who Got Next, followed by additional features on The Voice of Ajee, The Plus Effect, Poetic Purposed, DSR Saturdays and an EPiphany Radio Network feature on BeastNation TV. She has collaborated with artists such as LadyJae Flavaz, SYA, Quise Williams, Lee Lee Aint MsBehavin and fellow EPiphany Radio member, Rob Morrow. Through her gift of expression, Kimbrella Renea strives to provoke thought while speaking love, life, sensuality, awareness, upliftment and inspiration into the masses.
