Kim DeVos-Brooks

A child of the 60's I have always danced to the beat of my own drum. Coming from a non-conventional upbringing I began a journey of discovery in the 80’s, which continues to evolve with the passing of time. It is a wild ride.

Alpacas? Damn straight! I began with alpacas in 1997 as a breeder and started Inca Fashions (INCA is an acronym for Incredible Natural Creations from Alpaca), an online alpaca boutique, in 1999. Coming from a background in design I created my own line of contemporary yet timeless apparel created from luxurious alpaca fiber, and people responded. They loved what they saw and told others. Today the Inca Fashions Family has evolved to encompass several brands.

What's kickin' now. Well I continue to own and design for Inca Fashions, as well as other boutiques and private label brands including socks, hand made knitwear and golf fashions. Look for our brands online: Warrior Alpaca Socks, Alpaca Golf and Sun Valley Alpaca Co.

Call it karma - when you give you get so much and when you get, you should give it back! So I jumped into the circle! I have served on the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA) Marketing Committee, AOBA Fiber Committee and Alpaca Fiber Co-op of North America. I also served as a MAPACA BOD member and an AOBA BOD member from 2006-2009.

Not only is it an honor; it is also a privilege to be of service, and the best way to give thanks is by giving back; time, talents, thoughts and passion! As opportunities present themselves, I try to grab them and untie the bow!

I take it seriously and try to help others grow and learn. I mentor, have served as a judge for the Student Design Competition, and alpaca initiative, produced several fashion shows and am focused on alpaca fiber awareness and the advancement of the alpaca industry as a whole.

I don't take life too seriously… I live in California, the land of milk and honey, fruit and nuts, with my husband Jack and our Golden retriever, Nibby. I am actively involved with my children and in dreaming, because dreams do come true.
