Hello! I'm Kim. I received my M.B.A. from Columbia Business School with Dean's Honors and Distinction in May 2017, where I was on full scholarship as the Wiegers Fellow. At CBS, I helped launch the first ever fund to finance the higher education of refugees.

I first came to Columbia as a Knight-Bagehot Fellow at the Journalism School, from which I received an M.S. in 2016. Before I began tortur--ahem, studying accounting, I reported on the world's oldest companies as an Abe Journalism Fellow in Japan.

Prior to Columbia, I was the BBC's first US online business reporter, where I reported from over 25 US states, Canada, Indonesia, Singapore and the UK. I also contributed frequently to BBC radio, appearing regularly on World Service and Radio 4.

Other bylines include: Freakonomics, The Leonard Lopate Show, Studio 360, Living on Earth and one of the best experiments in hyper-local journalism, Chalkbeat, where I was part of the team that won an Education Writer's Association award. I also taught university courses at A.I. Cuza in Iasi, Romania on a Fulbright fellowship.

I graduated from Harvard with honors. I grew up on the beach (not shore) in New Jersey, where I was a very nerdy high schooler.
