Hi, I'm Kim G Lain! Welcome to my page. I'm a native Houstonian, and began my career as a radio news announcer, and part-time TV anchor while in college. My passion for news and “truth” propelled me into the newspaper medium where I began to work as a general assignments reporter for various publications including The Galveston County Daily News, the Houston Chronicle and other community-oriented news journals. While I had a great passion for news, I also had a strong sense of creativity and began to offer marketing and advertising consultation services within a broad range of industries. After developing several strategic marketing plans and continuing to work as an advertising copywriter, I went on to further my creative writing studies at Rice University in Houston, Texas and one of the most prestigious acting schools in the world - the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles, California, where I studied writing for film and method acting. I later returned to my home state of Texas where I conceived and developed a screen play for distribution as a TV movie. I've continued to work as a communications writer for Fortune 500 companies in the energy and oil and gas industry in Houston. After operating as an independent marketing consultant for 6-years, I accepted a corporate role as Director of Creative Writing for a national insurance company and focused on direct mail marketing campaigns, and brand stewardship. After serving successfully in that role, I was offered a copywriting and management position with another Fortune 500 company, Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. where I managed a creative team of six, and focused heavily on customer relationship marketing within a prominent consumer loyalty marketing program. I developed targeted messaging, and placed a heavy concentration on crucial brand positioning. Currently I am operating as an independent marketing writer, and brand steward, in addition to working on my first book, and screenplay. I'm also "insanely studying for the LSAT" right now, and look forward to fulfilling my dream of working as an attorney - helping the disadvantaged. I am also an advocate for victims of domestic violence. I now reside in Houston, with my daughter, Paige - the 13-year old baby of "The Four Team!"
