Hey everyone, I’m Kim McCullough. I’m a writer living in Albany, GA. I'm a graduate of Full Sail University with a master's degree in New Media Journalism. I'm always excited to expand my knowledge of writing and media because it changes every day in our society. Continuing to learn is having an advantage when it comes to spreading the news on a local and national level.

I've lived in Albany all my life. After high school, I received my associate degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from Albany Technical College. After working as a front desk clerk for almost 5 years, I made a career change once I realized I wasn't happy in that field. My love and potential for writing guided me to enroll at Albany State University as a Mass Communication major.

During my time at Albany State, I served in organizations such as Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. I also anchored on the campus news station, Rams News Network.

After graduation in December 2017, I accepted a job at WALB-TV in Albany, where I now work as a digital news executive producer.

My website, Home Grown News, shows my love for the community. I have covered community issues such as crime, homelessness, and domestic violence. I also like to shed light on positive organizations, events, and leaders within the Albany community.

Recently, I also published a website called Binge It! with Kim, which's dedicated to tv lovers. On this site, I review and rate series from different streaming platforms.

I am a fan of writing, food, education, and true crime mysteries. I also spend my free time with friends and friends such as my son, Jason. I’m also interested in volunteering and music. You can read my articles with a click on the button above.
