I am Kim Tairi an intersectional feminist, fashionista and the University Librarian at Auckland University of Technology. My whakapapa is Waikato and a Celtic/Nordic melting pot which includes Norwegian, English and Scottish. I spent 27 years living and working in Te Pāpaka-o-Māui (Australia) before returning to Aotearoa in 2016. In 2023, I was awarded the inaugural CAUL Indigenous Leader Award. In 2024 I began work a day a week in AUT's Te Tiriti Strategy office to support AUT's commitment to enacting Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Nā te mea, he Māori ahau, Toitū te Whenua, Toitū te Reo, Toitū Te Tiriti ia rā, ia rā. I am passionate about open access and I am currently the Chair of Open Access Australasia Executive Committee.
