I work full-time as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic working in Johannesburg South Africa.on the streets of Jozi. Employed by City of Johannesburg Fire Department.
On my off days I play and climb mountains. I am climbing million metres of beautiful and tough mountain terrain to feed 1 million hungry children in SA - through creating sustainable community driven projects and working closely to established NGO's.
In 2005, I founded Team Zodwa because I became increasingly dispondant while putting children into bodybags due to hunger and malnutrition.
My projects: Team Zodwa Fire and Ice 777 Summits. climbing the 7 highest points on each continent, 7 highest volcanoes, 7 highest islands and some bits in between! with my two sons and friends.
Zodwa Zest: Wrote and Facilitate the Team Zodwa Mentoring Mountains programme on leadership and Metaphoric walks and climbs.
Founded the Team Zodwa charity adventure race - 9 Peaks Challenge - Adventure with a Purpose (climbing the 9 highest peaks on each of the SA 9 Provinces) for Meals on Wheels.
Founded Pink Ladies on Peaks - an adventure club for women of all ages and sizes - we climb mountains, peaks and experience bucket list adventures here in South Africa and around the world.
2013 Johnnie Walker Sunday Times Nation's Greatest Finalist for the 10 years of voluntary community work.
Awarded my National Colours in 2000. I was in private practice as a sports & rehabilitation practitioner for 12 years, travelled overseas and locally with many teams, treated both national, olympic, paralympic and international sporting teams & celebrities.(Springbok Rugby Team, Paralympic wheelchair basketball,SA Duathlon teams, SA Cricket, SA Cyclists, Gladiators, etc.) Captained the SA Team of all ladies to the World Extrication & Rescue champs in 2006 & 2007. Captain of Team Zodwa Fire & Ice 777 summits team. Reach out ...be a hero. . Represented SA 6 times and Gauteng Province 5 times. ALS Paramedic, swift water rescue technition, LMVR Technition.
