Kim Worthy

I am a free spirit, who loves to travel. I am a devoted mother, daughter, sister, friend and teacher. I write African-centered curriculum. I am a published author, specializing in African-centered, culturally relevant pedagogy used in urban schools in the U.S. and internationally. I am the 2009 DC Teacher of the Year, and the 2009 National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) Marcus Foster Distinguished Educator. I have taught in Atlanta, Brooklyn, Las Vegas, Tampa, Washington, D.C., and Cape Town, South Africa, as the 2011 Teach With Africa Teaching Fellow. Learning, teaching, traveling, working with youth, writing, growing, laughing and sharing my all are my passions and purposes in life.
