Atlanta, Georiga

Kinyatta Trice is a south Georgia native who has resided in the greater Atlanta, Georgia area for the past three years. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and African American Studies from Mercer University in 2007. In 2012 she acquired her first advanced degree with a Master of Arts in African American Studies from Georgia State University. Her future plans are to obtain a PhD in Sociology.

Kinyatta's current focus is to impact the formation of racial and gender identities through programs that promote sisterhood & brotherhood, civic engagement, and holistic mentoring. Through research and the intersectional analysis of race and gender through a critical race, black feminist, and class stratification paradigm, she aims to identify the social and professional developmental needs of communities.

Kinyatta intends to address the needs identified by implementing culturally, socially, and gender specific programs, seminars, and curriculums to aid in the creation of globally competent and competitive people. In addition, Kinyatta hopes to develop self-sufficient communities through collaborations, conversations, and coordinated efforts to break the cycle of negative racial and gender identity formation.
